Apart from our team, our real strength lies in the way we work. We've developed tried and tested project management and quality control procedures to ensure that projects run smoothly.
Our Staged Development Process
Our staged approval process requires our client's signed approval at each stage of development, and we will not progress to the next stage until they are happy. In this way we make sure that our clients get a great looking, professionally developed website that fits their needs perfectly.
Stage 1 - Functional Design
The key to success for any complex project is proper planning. At this stage we take the time to discuss our client's project in detail, making sure we properly understand their requirements.
For large websites with complex functional requirements we will present a detailed design brief that documents the exact way the website will work.
For smaller websites we normally combine discussing functionality at the initial proposal. Once approved the project then progresses to the next stage.
Stage 2 - Concept Design
At this stage of the project we are working on the website's look and feel. Using our client's logo and corporate literature as a guide we produce a design solution to suit the project's objectives.
The design presents the content in an intuitive manner, making effective use of colour, branding and layout combined with an intuitive easy-to-use navigation system and logical site organisation.
We will present one or more draft designs, and revise them based on your feedback until you are happy with the visual style. Once approved, the project then progresses to the next stage.
Stage 3 - Production
We use web-development technologies such as XHTML and CSS to produce high accessibility websites that are well constructed and standards compliant.
We will produce the previously agreed design, present the client with a walk-through and then seek further feedback. Once approved, the project then progresses to the next stage.
Stage 4 - Development
Our team of developers work with technologies such as PHP, MySQL and Smarty to provide professionally developed applications that are well tested and function exactly as expected.
Once development is completed the fully functional website will be made available on our development servers where thorough testing will be carried out.
Once approved, the website is nearly ready to be made live!
Stage 5 - Quality Control
We understand how important the quality of our client's website are to them and so have introduced post production quality control procedures.
We will review a website from a fresh perspective, proof reading text and making sure everything is as good as it can be. Once approved, the website is published and development is completed.
Our Technology
We use XHTML and CSS to design websites which meet the required standards for high accessibility and which are also search engine compatible.
We take care to write standards compliant code which is cross browser compatible with Internet Explorer versions 6, 7 and 8, Mozilla Firefox and recent versions of Safari and Opera.
We use object orientated PHP 5 with MySQL 5 databases and we organise code in to class libraries in order to provide powerful, feature-rich and secure back-end code.
We use the Smarty templating engine to effectively seperate layout and content to allow websites to be reskinned and content rewritten without requiring complete redevelopment.
